The client: a US education company
Our client is a US education company running online learning for schools, with instructors who teach across several schools and sections. Students attend live classes, work through notes and assignments, and ask questions between lessons. Instructors plan classes, mark work and keep track of how each section is doing.
Why scattered tools let struggling students slip through
With instructors teaching across several schools and sections, classes, notes, grading and progress were scattered. Nobody had one view of how a section was doing, so struggling students surfaced too late, often only after an exam, when it was hardest to help.
What we built: an online learning platform for students and instructors
- Today and scheduleLive and upcoming classes
- Knowledge HubNotes, recordings, assignments
- Progress and Q&AScores, questions, achievements
Attendance and scores feed the reports and the model.
- Progress reportsAttendance and scores per section
- At-risk studentsFlagged early
- Grading and schedulingQueue, quizzes, extra classes
- Instructor schedules
- Students join live
- Learn from notes and recordings
- Attendance and scores tracked
- Instructor flags, answers, grades
Student app: today, schedule and progress
A home screen with live and upcoming classes, a weekly schedule showing every class, time and instructor, weekly progress on attendance and scores, recent Q&A and achievements.
Live classes in the browser
Custom WebRTC live classes with no extra app. Instructors teach with camera, mic and screen share and see who has joined; students join with mic and camera, raise a hand, and use class chat and a questions panel.
Knowledge Hub
Lecture notes, recordings, assignments and reference books in one searchable library, alongside HR and policy documents and saved items, with recently viewed files one click away.
Instructor dashboard and progress reports
A class progress report per section, covering students, average attendance, assessments done and at-risk count, then a student-by-student view filtered by Excellent, Good, Needs attention or Critical, with attendance and scores side by side and report export.
Grading queue and class scheduling
Today's classes, the grading queue, quiz results and student questions in one place. Adding an extra class takes a title, day and time, and it appears on every student's weekly schedule.
AI tutor, at-risk prediction and AI grading
An AI tutor that answers students' questions, a machine-learning model that predicts which students are at risk from their engagement, and AI-assisted grading and recommendations for what each student should study next.
How we built one online learning platform for two roles
We designed around the two people who use it every day. Students get one place to learn: classes, files, questions and progress. Instructors get one place to teach and to see who needs help. Both apps run on the same Next.js and Node.js platform, with PostgreSQL holding every learning record, so attendance from a live class and a score from a quiz land in the same place and feed the reports and the at-risk model straight away. Live video runs on custom WebRTC inside the browser, and the platform is hosted on Render. Student data and client details stayed confidential under the NDA.
How AI helps instructors act earlier
AI works alongside instructors. A machine-learning model reads attendance, assessment scores and engagement and predicts which students are at risk, so instructors can step in before an exam rather than after it. An AI tutor answers students' questions between classes, and AI-assisted grading and recommendations help instructors mark work and suggest what each student should study next.
Where the online learning platform stands
Our work on the platform was completed in 2026.
What the online learning platform delivers
- Students learn in one app: live classes, files, questions and progress
- Instructors see attendance, scores and at-risk students per section in one report
- An ML model flags at-risk students early, so instructors can step in before exams
- Live classes run in the browser, with no separate video app
Why the client and product aren't named
Many companies hire us to build the product their business depends on. Before we see a line of code, they ask us to keep it private, and we agree. So this page describes the work and the problem it solved, but not who it was for.
How we handle confidential work
- We sign your NDA before you share code, data or plans.
- Your code and accounts are yours. We work inside them, and our access ends when the work does.
- We never name a client, product or person publicly without written permission.
- We describe the work, not the client, as we have on this page.
Want the details? On a call we can walk you through this project, within what the NDA allows.
Questions about this online learning platform
Why isn't the client named?
We signed an NDA, so the client's name, its product and its code stay confidential. We protect every client's work the same way. If you'd like to know more, book a call and we'll share what the NDA allows.
What features does an online learning platform for schools need?
In this project: a student app with today's classes, a weekly schedule and progress; live classes in the browser; a searchable library of notes, recordings and assignments; an instructor dashboard with section reports, at-risk flags, a grading queue and scheduling; and an AI tutor with AI-assisted grading and recommendations.
How does the platform spot students who are falling behind?
A machine-learning model reads each student's attendance, assessment scores and engagement and predicts who is at risk. Instructors see the at-risk count per section and can filter students by Excellent, Good, Needs attention or Critical.
Do students need a separate app for live classes?
No. Live classes run on custom WebRTC inside the browser: camera, mic, screen share, raise hand, class chat and questions, all within the platform.
Does TechTose build EdTech and online learning platforms?
Yes. This project covered a full online learning platform, from live classes to instructor analytics and AI. Most projects start with a free Scan of your app, code or idea, which comes back as a written report in 48 hours.
