Make your v0 app production-ready
v0 is at its best on the interface. The production questions start when you add the parts behind it: server actions, a database, logins and the environment it deploys to.

Where v0 apps usually need work before launch
- A polished interface with no backend decisions behind it yet
- Server actions that run without checking who is calling them
- Secrets in client components, or one set of environment variables shared by preview and production
- A database added late, with no access rules or backups
- No monitoring beyond the build log, so production errors go unseen
How do I make my v0 app production-ready?
Work through these six areas. Tick what's already true: whatever is left open is where real users find problems first.
Tick what's already true of your app.
- 01
Security and secrets
In v0 When you add server actions or API routes, keep secrets server-side and make every action check the user. Anything a client component imports ends up in the browser bundle.
- 02
Logins and roles
In v0 Protect data in route handlers and the database, not only with redirects in the interface. A server action is a public endpoint: anyone can call it, signed in or not.
- 03
Database
In v0 If you added Supabase, Neon or another database through Vercel, check that access rules and backups are in place, and decide who owns each row before the first real user signs up.
- 04
Deploys
In v0 Use preview deployments as staging, and keep environment variables separate for preview and production.
- 05
Monitoring
In v0 Turn on error tracking and alerts for the production deployment. Build logs tell you it deployed; error tracking tells you it works.
- 06
AI and usage costs
In v0 If you add AI features, call the model from the server with usage limits, and pick the model per task rather than the largest one.

You get the truth, whatever it is.
If your app is in good shape, we'll tell you.
If a small fix is enough, we'll show you how to do it yourself.
If it needs real work, you'll get a fixed-scope plan, with no pressure to buy.

How do I add a backend to a v0 app on Vercel?
Decide the data model first, then add a database, for example Supabase or Neon through Vercel. Keep secrets in server-only environment variables, and check the user in every server action and route handler. A Blueprint settles these decisions in writing before anything is built.
Can I keep the v0 design and still change the code?
Yes. v0 produces standard React and Next.js code that you can take into your own repository. Most of the production work happens behind the interface, so the design usually stays as it is, and v0 can keep helping with the interface while the backend is hardened.
Do I have to rebuild my v0 app?
Usually not. Most AI-built apps need hardening, not a rewrite. We keep what works and fix what doesn't.
Do I have to move off v0?
Not necessarily. The Scan report says whether it can stay where it is. If moving is the right call, Lift moves your database, users with their existing logins, files, scheduled jobs and domains to infrastructure you control.
What do you need to start?
Tell us where you are. An app link or repo helps but is optional. Don't send passwords, API keys or customer data; if private access is needed, we arrange it separately.
Is it really free?
Yes. You keep the report either way, and if you don't need us, we'll say so.
Is this a penetration test or certification?
No. It's a production-readiness review of your app's setup, not a certification.
